Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of flight attendants’ job stress on their psychological ownership and job satisfaction, and then verify the mediating effects of psychological ownership on the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction. A total of 390 valid questionnaires, out of 400 questionnaires distributed, were used for the analysis to test the hypothesized relationships. As a result of the verification, high stress from work and organizational structure led to low psychological ownership and job satisfaction. As a result of verifying the mediating effects, psychological ownership partially had mediating effects not only on the relationship between stress from work and job satisfaction, but also on the relationship between stress from organizational structure and job satisfaction. This study contributed to understanding the effects of flight attendants’ job stress on their psychological ownership and job satisfaction, and thus it has a meaning in that it provided implications for efficient human resource management of flight attendants.
