Abstract

Constituents of stems of Isodon trichocarpus KUDO were investigated. The presence of stigmasterol and β-sitosterol was recognized on the vapor phase chromatogram. Ursolic acid was converted to its methyl ester acetate and identified with the authentic sample. Oleanolic acid was identified as a minor component through the conversion to its methyl ester and purification of the methyl ester with column chromatography. As diterpene components enmein (I) and oridonin (II) were isolated.
