Abstract

Two cases of maxillary cancer with coexisting inverted papilloma are reported. The first case was a 57-year-old female who complained of right nasal osbstruction with a nasal polyp. She showed postero-lateral and medial bone destructions on a CT scan. Pathohistology by exploratory antrotomy showed squamous cell carcinoma with coexisting inverted papilloma. After chemotherapy and irradiation, a partial maxillectomy was performed. Extended total maxillectomy was performed later, because of tumor recurrence. The second case was a 66-year-old male who complained of right nasal obstruction with nasal papilloma. He showed only medial bone destruction on a CT scan. After an extended Denker's operation, irradiation was performed. Pathological findings showed inverted papilloma with a partial malignancy.
