Abstract

The studies were performed to clarify the characteristics of the heavy motions of fishing boat in extreme condisions on rough seas. The experiments were performed with the use of a 2-meter long, selfpropelled fishing boat model in the wind waves at Ohnuma, Japan. According to the experiments and analysis, the probability density functions of the shipping waters on deck, which are considered to be the indispensable matter in the extreme conditions in rough seas, were deduced and discussed.
