Abstract

One of the popular strategies for quantitatively analyzing aftershock sequence is to determine the p parameter of the improved Omori's formula:A/(t+c)p.However, it seems that determined p value is not inherent to the aftershock sequence, but rather be a function of conditions how seismic observations were made, which signifies that the magnitudes of the parameter p does not characterize the physical nature of the aftershock sequence in problem. Credibility of the p vaule is tested.
