Abstract

White-box testing is a testing method that is used to validate whether the code implementation follows intended design. When white-box testing is applied to GUI testing, test cases usually contain enormous test programs to operate GUI. These programs are unavoidably lengthy and intermixed with regular test code. Thus, GUI test code tends to be difficult to read, understand, and maintain. In this thesis, we propose a tool that supports white-box GUI testing so that testers can concentrate on creating high-level test scripts instead of writing tedious test programs for GUI operations. The tool is implemented as an Eclipse plug-in, which enables testers to design white-box test cases for GUI.
