Abstract

Purpose: This study explores 1) the relationships among the perceptions of ESG activity by hotel employees, organizational identification, and organizational citizenship behavior; 2) the relationship between organizational identification and organizational citizenship behavior, and 3) the mediating effect of organizational identification.
 Research design, data, and methodology: Online questionnaires were collected from convention industry workers in Seoul, with 226 valid samples used. For the empirical analysis, simple, multiple, and hierarchical regression analyses were conducted.
 Results: First, the study shows that the perception of ESG activity by hotel employees has a positive effect on organizational identification and organizational citizenship behavior. Second, organizational identification has a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Third, a mediating effect from organizational identification was found.
 Conclusions: T he r esults b ring a n ew d irection t o h uman r esource m anagement and organization management in the hotel and convention industry that emphasizes the importance of ESG activity, job burnout, organizational identification, and organizational citizenship behavior.
