Abstract

The present study is to introduce the specific contents of 11 programs and Korean lists from Korean language learning center by EBS Durian which is open and support for multicultural Korean education, and to clarify its characteristics. The Korean list, which supports Korean language education programs for multicultural immigrant women and children in Korea. These programs can be divided into Korean language education for adults(K-POP Korean, Easy to Learn Korean, Hello Korean, Screen Korean, Using Correct Korean, Korean Language and Writing), cultural exchange education(Eolsoo! Korean Show and Cooking Show with Korean), Korean education for the multicultural children(Hangul Train Chipo, Hangul Yaho, Hangul Friend Aracha). The programs on Korean language education consist of the way of verifying and practicing Korean vocabulary and expression, and introduces or makes Korean clothing and food in cultural exchange program. The Hangul learning program consists of activities such as Hangul consonants and vowels learning, vocabulary practice, and making sentences using vocabulary. The characteristics of education contents from these programs include multiculturalism, interest, and authenticity. Multiculturalism can be found in performers, cultural contents, and educational language. Interest was found in media utilization, format, character, activity, and authenticity appeared in educational vocabulary and activities. Based on this, it suggests the direction for the development of multicultural Korean education program using the media with proposing the equal multicultural contents, actively using scenes and voices, securing diversity of media types, formatting contents with a high level of authenticity, constructing the sustainable education contents, and establishing the bilateral programs.
