Abstract

This article investigates the impact of defeatist discourse on the outcome of the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict, focusing on the statements made by the OSCE Minsk Group. The research aims to present the linguistic units employed in the statements of the ОSCЕ Minsk Grоup, constituting elements of a defeatist discourse that exerted influence on the trajectory of the conflict, culminating in the ultimate defeat of Nagorno-Karabakh. The objectives encompass the identification of defeatist discourse patterns within the statements of the OSCE Minsk Group, examination of their potential ramifications, and comprehension of the role such language may have played in the defeat of Nagorno-Karabakh.
