Abstract

In the context of the global movement of migrants and refugees, this paper reviews Daniel G. Groody’s theological concerns on the way of “crossing over the boundaries between divisions.” Beyond the sociological and political approaches, Groody’s four theological views on Migration and Refugees: Imago Dei, Verbum Dei, Missio Dei, Visio Dei, as well as Christof Sauer’s Compassio Dei, will give more profound insights to Korean churches, entering the multi-cultural communities where Korean theologians and church leaders can apply their Missio Dei implications. ‘Hospitality,’ as a metaphor for the church missions, will be acknowledged by many Korean theologians and church leaders in the near future as the one way of constructing a practical model of ‘Missional Church’ in the Korean Society.
