Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the state and development prospects of the Russian freelance market in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is concluded that the coronavirus pandemic has led to a significant increase in demand for freelance services. There is a clear competition between free employment and office employment. Hiring freelancers is becoming one of the ways to stabilize the work process. The main reasons for hiring free workers are: cost reduction and the need to work on separate projects, as well as access to a wide range of services. The factors of long-term growth of the freelance market are presented. It is noted that the growth prospects of the freelance market in Russia are observed both in more traditional segments and in the digital economy, in particular: brand analytics, the Internet of Things, mobile marketing (app-marketing), machine learning, cloud technologies, e-commerce, encryption.
