Abstract

The synthesis of a number of tricarbonyliron and -ruthenium derivatives of 1 H-1,2-diazepines are described. The complexes have been characterised by infrared, mass, Mössbauer and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. The 7-membered heretocycles are coordinated to the metal atoms via two olefinic double bonds in typical diene fashion. A complete analysis of NMR chemical shifts and coupling constants in (1-acetyl-1 H-1,2-diazepine)Fe(CO) 3 has been carried out with the aid of a computer simulated spectrum.
