Abstract

<TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> 소화설비의 소화성능 시험방법에는 직접시험방법이 가장 좋지만, 고비용과 환경문제 그리고 시험절차의 어려움으로 간접시험방법을 사용하는 경우가 많다. 그러나 석유화학플랜트나 원자력발전소와 같은 국가 중요위험시설은 화재가 발생하면 대형피해가 발생할 수 있으므로 직접방사시험을 통해 소화성능을 검증할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 국가 중요위험시설에 설치된 전역방출방식의 <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> 소화설비 중에서 표면화재 방호구역과 심부화재 방호구역을 각각 선정하여 <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> 소화설비의 소화성능을 검증해 보았다. 소화성능은 방호구역 내에 방사된 <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX>의 농도가 설계농도기준(NFSC 및 NFPA)에 만족해야 그 성능을 인정받을 수 있다. 여기서, 설계농도는 <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> 소화약제가 화염을 제어할 수 있는 소화농도에 여유율 20 %를 감안한 농도를 의미한다. 시험결과 표면화재와 심부화재 방호구역 모두 <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> 설계농도를 확보하고 있음을 확인하였고 심부화재의 경우에는 20분 이상 설계농도가 유지되었다. 본 연구를 통해 국가 중요위험시설에 대한 직접방사시험 방법 및 판정방법을 소개하였고 향후 이와 같은 국가 중요위험시설에는 직접방사시험을 통해 소화설비의 신뢰성을 검증해야 할 필요성을 제기하였다. Indirect Test Method is often used instead of direct test method in test method for extinguishing performance of <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> extinguishing facility because of high cost, environment problems and difficulties of procedure. But in the danger facilities for a unit of nation, such as a petrochemical plant, a nuclear power plant, or etc. is better to verify the performance of the extinguishment through direct discharge test. In <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> extinguishing system for total flooding system installed in dangerous facilities in Korea, each protected area in surface fire and deep-seated fire had selected and verified of extinguishing performance of <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> extinguishing facilities. To get recognized as extinguishing performance, discharged <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> concentration to protected area should be equivalence with design concentration standards (NFSC and NFPA). The Design Concentration means that <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> extinguishing agent is considerate of concentration for percentage of allowance (20 %) from extinguishing concentration which available to control of flame. As test result, surface fire and deep seated fire in protected area is obtained <TEX>$CO_2$</TEX> design concentration and maintained design concentration more than 20 minutes as deep-seated fire. Through this study, we introduced direct discharging test method and decision method. And furthermore, especially in the dangerous facilities as a unit of Nation, we suggested necessity about reliability of extinguishing facilities to use direct test method.
