Abstract

According the Korea Ministry of Employment and Labor’s industrial accident statistics released in March 2022, industrial accidents in the construction industry account for the largest proportion of industrial accidents in 2021. Of the total 828 accident deaths, the number of accident deaths in the construction industry was 417, accounting for 50.4% of the total deaths in all industries.BR As the construction industry becomes large, high-rise, and complex, the proportion of death accidents in construction sites continues to increase, and accordingly, many studies and developments are required in Korea to reduce the occurrence of industrial accidents.BR Currently, domestic construction sites are incorporating various IT technologies to prevent industrial accidents in the construction industry. Smart construction technologies such as BIM, drones, and ICT-based field management technologies are being used for the safety management of construction workers, and academia, government agencies, and construction companies are researching and developing ways to use them for construction sites.BR Among many IT technologies, surveillance CCTVs are used in various ways in many places, and they are currently judged to be the most utilized in terms of the technology level of construction sites. However, research on CCTV and control systems suitable for construction sites is insufficient.BR This study focuses on the design of a mobile CCTV control system based on risk assessment in the construction industry and suggests improvement measures to respond to the requirements at the construction site.
