Abstract
This interview with Robert W. Houk, Public Printer of the United States, was conducted in Chicago, Illinois, on June 25, 1990. The editors of Government Publications Review explore with Houk his goals and objectives for the U.S. Government Printing Office and its federal depository library program in an electronic environment. Houk's perceptions of GPO's role and relationships with the Congress, executive agencies, and the private sector in the development of federal information policy are expressed. Matters relating to the depository library program, including the structure, delivery of electronic information products, and provision of “free” access to government information are discussed in detail.
