Abstract

A series of 8-bromo-substituted 1-alkyl-3-methyl-7-(1-oxothietanyl-3)xanthines have been synthesized with 49 – 52% yield by oxidation of 1-ethyl- and 1-propyl-8-bromo-3-methyl-7-(thietanyl-3)xanthenes. 8-Amino-substituted 1-alkyl-3-methyl-7-(1-oxothietanyl-3)xanthines have been obtained with 14 – 87% yields using 1-alkyl-8-bromo-3-methyl-7-(1-oxothietanyl-3)xanthines and various reagents (piperidine, morpholine, monoethanolamine, and trisamine). The structures of products were determined using IR and 1 H NMR spectroscopy. Most of the synthesized compounds exhibit high antiaggregant activity.
