Abstract
The article is devoted to activities of the outstanding scientist – Doctor of Philology, Professor G.F. Kovalyov, the founder of Voronezh onomastic school, the head of the department of Slavic philology of Voronezh State University, the head of Sobennikova research laboratory of Voronezh linguistics. In July 15,2018, G.F. Kovalyov celebrated his 75 birthday. Professor G.F. Kovalyov makes a great contribution to Russian linguistics development, the preservation of Russian language and culture. The scientific activity of Gennady Filippovich Kovalyov is always carried out in parallel with the educational and enlightenment. The activities of Professor G.F. Kovalyov are also important for school education.
