Abstract
In the title complex, [NiSm(C19H20N2O4)(NO3)3(CH4O)2]·2CH3OH, the NiII ion is coordinated by two O atoms and two N atoms of a deprotonated Schiff base ligand and by two O atoms of two methanol ligands in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The SmIII ion is coordinated by six O atoms from three chelating nitrate ligands and four O atoms from a Schiff base ligand in a distorted bicapped square-antiprismatic environment. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect complex molecules and methanol solvent molecules, forming (10) sheets.
