Abstract
The purpose of this study is to ascertain and describe the core characteristics of home education and cultural transmission among three generations of Korean women: namely, granddaughters, daughters, and grandmothers. The study analyzes the content of cultural transmission in the home over three generations with a focus on the propagation of women's gender roles. The study employes a narrative approach to the research, being fundamentally qualitative in nature. First, 110 women aged 20 to 90 were surveyed (online) on the content of home education and cultural transmission within their families. Second, seven families with three living generations of women were interviewed and their relevant life experiences recorded. The content of home education and cultural transmission received within the family were analyzed, with focus on the propagation of gender roles.
