Abstract

Introduction. The activity of the Kalmyk regional Komsomol organization was extensive and multifaceted, which determines the scientific interest of scientists towards its study. Most of the materials and documents of this organization are stored in the P-22 fund of the National Archive of the Republic of Kalmykia. The purpose of the article is to give an overview of the P-22 fund of the National Archive of the Republic of Kalmykia. Materials and methods. The study was conducted on archival materials of the P-22 foundation of the National Archive of the Republic of Kalmykia. The analysis of archival materials is carried out on principles such as objectivity and historicism, which made it possible to explore the problem in relation to the prevailing concrete historical circumstances. Results. The documents of the P-22 fund of the National Archive of the Republic of Kalmykia include cases covering the period from 1918 to 1993. In 1991, the Kalmyk Republican Komsomol Organization was reorganized into the Youth Union of Kalmykia, which existed until 1993. In total, the fund’s inventory includes more than 1 500 cases. The foundation’s documents reflect information about the activities of the Komsomol regional Committee during the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars, about working with young people and their participation in the rise of agriculture in the post-war period, about ideological and political work, socio-political activity of the youth of the republic. The foundation’s materials include statistical reports on the composition of Kalmyk regional, municipal, and district Komsomol organizations, and also reflect state policy towards the younger generation.
