Abstract
The nature and level of political participation of citizens are considered as a criterion of democratic society and the stability of its political system. Of particular importance for the stability of society has involvement in social and political life of the young generation of citizens, civic and political participation of young people. In the present study operational meaningful characteristics of the political participation of young people is the level of its activity, institutionalization and conventionality. Based on the results of a longitudinal study of public opinion youth Kemerovo region analyzed patterns of expression of the dynamics of these indicators of political involvement in the period from 2005 to 2013. These results can be used to construct the forecast trends of further changes in the political participation of young people from regions of Russia in order to prevent its possible prevention of radicalization and extremism among young people.
