Abstract

Grinding performance of resinoid bonded poreless wheel with aluminium powder is experimentally investigated in cylindrical plunge grinding, analyzing grinding force, wheel wear, grinding temperature, work surface temperature and so on. Main results obtained in this paper are as follows : (1) Variation processes of grinding temperature and work surface temperature in a plunge grinding cycle are similar to that of grinding force. (2) An increase of aluminium powder content leads to lower grinding temperature, work surface temperature, grinding force and wheel wear. (3) The finer the grain size of wheel is, the lower grinding temperature, work surface temperature and grinding force become. (4) Grinding temperature has a close relation to tangential grinding force.
