Abstract
For a part of a study on the determination of solvent vapours in the industrial air, various kinds of vapours, individual and mixed samples, were analysed by gas chromatography, an indicator tube method, and chemical tests. The results of the experiments are that the gas chromatography was better than other two methods on determining organic solvent vapours which are present in a frequently mixed state. 1. In the case of determination of individual samples, the precision and the accuracy of records by the gas chromatography are far better than those by the indicator tube method and similar to those by the chemical tests. 2. In that of mixed samples, the reliability of records by the indicator tube method and by chemical tests was found doubtful. It was able to separate and to make quantitative and qualitative analyses only by the gas chromatography.
