Abstract

Generally, only the relative story displacements of the center of gravity are examined when the structure with eccentricity is designed. So we examined the relative story displacements of every frame, too. In the Part 1, we suggested the design method of the structure with eccentricity. In the Part 2, we verified the method to experiment 3D-frame specimens, and got the following results. (1) The result of the experiments and the result of the analyses agree approximately. (2) To increase the strength of the frame with more torsional displacements effectively reduce the torsional displacements. (3) By using the method of increasing the frame strength in this paper, the distribution of the relative displacements of the structure with eccentricity is equal to the one of the structure without eccentricity approximately. (4) We confirmed the adequacy of the method of the analyses and the method of increasing the frame strength in this paper.
