Abstract

Two cases of anomaly in the region of the celiac artery and the superior mesenteric artery encountered during the dissection practice for students in 1979 are described as follows. 1. No. 208 : age 75 female The celiac artery shows the Truncus gastorolienalis (Adachi), and both the common hepatic artery and the superior mesenteric artery ramificated from the common trunk originating from the aorta as Truncus hepatomesentericus (Adachi). The right accessory hepatic artery branched from the common hepatic artery. This case would be one of the rarest variations which belong to Type V by the classifications of Adachi. 2. No. 317 : age 48 female The common hepatic artery ramificated from the celiac artery as usual. But in this case, the right accessory hepatic artery branched from the superior mesenteric artery, and the left accessory hepatic artery branched from the left gastric artery. This case belongs to Type I Gruppe II by the classification of Adachi. 3. The cystic artery in both cases ramificated from the right accessory hepatic artery which branched from the superior mesenteric artery.
