Abstract

This is the fourth publication in which the authors continue to give an account of the development and design of wagon structures and their elements at Uralvagonzavod. The structures of gondola cars under consideration were equipped with the automatic coupling, on the body of which there was an “ear”, which provided the possibility of coupling with cars not equipped with the automatic coupling. The ridge beam of the gondola car is made solid in cross-section and length. The side wall posts are also solid in length and hot-rolled in execution. The required lowering of the auto-coupling axis was achieved using the smaller height and increase in eccentricity of the auto-coupling axis relative to the neutral axis of the ridge beam.
