Abstract
Based on archival documents the article explains the features of counterintelligence activity of the Soviet secret services in the process of the Ukraine territory liberation from the Nazi occupiers. It has been considered the organizational and functional structure of the organs of State Security, the process of creation, structure and intelligence-led policing of the NKDB temporary organizations in the Ukrainian SSR on the liberated lands, arranging protection from enemy sabotage and reconnaissance agents, ensuring the proper functioning of industry and transport, tracing of war criminals and collaborators. The socio-political condition of the operational staff and the secret service agents were covered.
