Abstract

The main directions of Soviet policy in the Civil war in Spain 1936—1939 are examined in the article on the basis of analysis of materials of 9 funds of Archives of foreign policy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An overview of the main funds of Archives of foreign policy on the subject is given, interesting scientific and educational details of the subject are provided. Based on the analysis of archival materials, the author traces the formation of the Soviet course in the conflict on the Iberian Peninsula, shows the internal and external factors that determined its evolution in July-September of 1936. Revealing new moments of the “Spanish vector” of Soviet policy, the author clarifies the position of the USSR, its main directions of political, military-technical, and propaganda character.
