Abstract

The article analyzes survey reports of the KGB of the Qazaq SSR on several armed uprisings of 1929–1931, which were prepared in 1963–1964 and are being stored in the Special State Archive of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The goals and objectives of the study include, first, understanding the significance of the source chosen by the author for enriching ideas about the processes and phenomena that took place in Soviet Qazaqstan in the late 1920s and early 1930s. An analysis of references is presented, which contains information about the constituent parts of the history of peasant uprisings and their connecting elements. An assessment of the information potential of references is given. In addition, the reasons that led to the creation of review notes, their nature, purpose, content, formation procedure and source bases are identified.
