Abstract
The article gives an overview on the activities of the first dean of the operational faculty of the Moscow Institute of Railway Transport Engineers Volodymyr Sokovych, as the founder of the national scientific school "Organization of Railway Transportation" The fundamental publications for the new scientific discipline of the professor's publication are analyzed, the theoretical direc-tions of searches for his outstanding students are covered and the present state of the above-mentioned scientific school is shown.

З цього короткого аналізу наявності сучасних наукових осередків, що займаються вивченням і удосконаленням теорії організації перевезень залізничним транспортом можемо зробити висновок, що наукова школа започаткована доктором технічних наук, професором Володимиром Олександровичем Соковичем плідно функціонує та розвивається у цілій низці вищих навчальних закладів країн пострадянського простору

The article is devoted to the vision by professor М. Як засновника вітчизняної наукової школи «Організація залізничних перевезень». Ключові слова:наукова школа, наука з організації залізничних перевезень, експлуатація залізничного транспорту, учні-послідовники. Діяльність професора мало висвітлена як у вітчизняних наукових джерелах так і у джерелах російського походження, хоча основна наукова діяльність його відбувалась у стінах Московського інституту інженерів залізничного транспорту протягом останніх 30 років його життя.
