Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop equations of maximal oxygen(VO(2)max) consumption by analyzing the results of shuttle run or 12min run test among high physical fitness group of children. We measured 39 children, aged 7~9years old and they were selected as sports talented children in I city. They performed graded exercise test(GXT), shuttle run and 12min run tests. Statistical analysis was done with correlation and regression analysis. After that, we checked the different sizes between the values from the predict formula , which was made by regression analysis and directly measured values by GXT. According to the result, VO(2)max has higher correlation with after number of 75%HR(r=.52, p.01) in shuttle run test, and moving distance of 5min(r=.58, p.01) in 12min run test. and we created the predict formula for the shuttle run by ; VO(2)max=(0.223×남은수75)-(0.518×㎏)+53.90,(modified R(2)=.39, p.01) and for the 12min run by; (0.051×m in 5min)-(0.623×kg)+23.603, (modified R(2)=.48, p.01) The mean difference between the predict and the directly measured values were 3.14 and 2.61㎖/kg/min in each formula. This difference was not bigger than the formula in other studies. We conclude that our formula can be use for similar group of age and higher level of physical fitness children.
