ABSTRACT A Case Report of Bell's Palsy during Early PuerperiumSoo-Hyeon Yoon 1 , Ji-Yeon Lee 1 , In-Seon Lee 1 Hye-sook Cho 1 , Soo-Hyung Jeon 2 , Jong-Hun Jeong 21 Dept. of OB & GY, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui University 2 Dept. of Sasang Constitution Medicine, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Eui UniversityObjectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of traditional Korean medicine therapy on Bell’s palsy during early puerperium. Methods: The patient who had Bell’s palsy during early puerperium were t reated with traditional Korean medicine such as Gunggwijohyeol-eum , Saenghwa-tang, Gunggwijohyeol-eumhabBulsu-san and Sasang constitution medicine. The progresses of symptoms were evaluated by House-Brackmann facial nerve grad ing system and Numeric Rating System (NRS). Results: After treatment, the patient’s symptoms of Bell’s palsy and pu erperium were improved. Conclusions: This case study shows that the postpartum care in traditional Korean medicine therapy and Sasang constitution medicine is eff ective for the patient who had Bell’s palsy during early puerperium.
