Abstract

The glass tubes (0.3×0.3×20mm) filled with gelatin gel (4-18%) were kept in the pure sodium chloride solution of the various concentration at room temperature (12-16°C). The contents of salt and water in the gel of 1cm. length from openning were measured at an intervals of one hour (Fig. 1-2, Table 1.) The coefficient of diffusivty presumed from the data obtained were in the range of 0.026-0.954cm2/hr. (Table 1). The loss of dry matter was negligible in thesc experiments.
