Abstract

The purpose of this article is to consider the general properties of knitted fabrics in relation to yarn feeding tension.Experiments were made by using nylon and polyester false twisting yarn, with following results.(1) The increase of yarn feeding tension reduces the speed of the yarn feeding and shortened the stitch length.(2) Physical and mechanical properties of fabric were affected remarkably by stitch length.(3) The dependence was observed between stitch length, yarn friction force and crimp rigidity.
