Abstract
e-mail: zalukvjanka@gmail.com The article deals with the theoretical bases of formation of the hutsul text as a local text of Ukrainian literature. Attention is drawn to the importance of this notion in the ethnocentric and cultural spheres of fi n de siecle. The author considers main semantic codes, common plot motifs and dominant trends in research. It is emphasized that the notion of the hutsul text in the Ukrainian literary studies has not yet been recorded in terminological dictionaries and has not been researched to the full; therefore, it can be referred to as a neologism. Nevertheless, the preconditions for its full-fl edged use in the repertoire of the researchers of Ukrainian literature were shaped yet in late 19th and early 20th century, when such Ukrainian writers as Ivan Franko, Mykhailo Kotsyubynskyi, Olha Kobylyanska, Hnat Khotkevych and Marko Cheremshyna presented the topos of the Hutsul land and cultural-historical vision of this ethnic region in their literary, specifi cally, prose works. Keywords: hutsul text, locus, topos of the Hutsul land, Ukrainian culture, codes of supratext.
