Studying the Employment Generating Relative Advantage in Economic Sectors of Kermanshah Province. Zahra Farshad Far Academic staff Islamic Azad university Branch of kermanshah Hoseen Asghar Por Assistant professor, Tabriz University Abstract Analysing employment structure throughout different parts of Iranian economics requires precise recognition of talents and potentials of each economic sector. This will help policy makers to plan for a balanced employment situation in each sector. In Iran, like any other country employment is the most important issue for the state policy makers. In this study, Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share (SS) Models to national census statistics of years 1996 and 2006 is utilized to evaluate role of each economics sectors in national employment and likely causes of inappropriate employment growth in Kermanshah province as compared to the rest of the county. SS model indicates this asymmetry is due to competitive changes and unusual economical structure. According to the basic economical model assessment, agriculture, service and civil sectors are recognized as the basic economical sectors in Kermanshah province. Coefficient changes in location quotient during the mentioned period reveals that service sector had the fastest but unbalanced growth during the period studied. Furthermore, LQ shows advantage decrease in industrial section while agricultural section had the highest advantage in attracting employment. These changes are due to lack of insufficient investment in labour intensive activities that resulted in inappropriate growth of service section in the province.
