Abstract
Objectives The purpose of this study is to reveal the characteristics of Chinese college students among foreign college students in writing test answers. Through this, Chinese college students can analyze the use of expressions and errors that appear when writing test answers and use them in educational plans.
 Methods The purposes of this study were to test answers were written for first-year Chinese college students taking the Korean language course at K University in Seoul. The answer was analyzed to understand the pattern of expression use, and the error pattern in the test answer was examined.
 Results As a result, most definitions and statuses in writing test answers, listing. Example expressions were used, but repetition, emphasis, and theorem were found to be missing. In addition, it can be seen that content and context errors and language structure errors appear in the test answers. As a result of the analysis of the answers, there was no problem describing the answers for familiar topics, but it was found that they had difficulty writing answers for unfamiliar topics.
 Conclusions Through this, it can be seen that Chinese college students need education on repetition, emphasis, and the use of organized expressions in writing test answers. It can be seen that the requirements of the problem should be identified and guided to organize the content, and guidance is needed to organize the correct sentence. In addition, it will be effective to practice writing test answers related to the major of Chinese college students.
