Abstract

The article analyzes the mediation and other ADR procedures that are mandatory for the parties to a civil dispute under the law of the United Kingdom. It has been established that, in fact, there is mandatory mediation in the form of judicial conciliation in some family and labor disputes. Judicial practice has developed an approach according to which similar procedures can be applied in other disputes on the basis of the discretion of the court.
