Abstract

The purpose of the study is to study the role and features of extracurricular independent work as a tool to improve the effectiveness of the development of competencies by management students. The article systematizes approaches to extracurricular independent work, analyzes the main problems in the field of improving the efficiency of mastering competencies by management students, describes the mechanisms of positive influence of extracurricular work of management students on the level of efficiency of mastering general and professional competencies. Scientific novelty is manifested in a comprehensive study of the possibilities of extracurricular work in terms of improving the efficiency of mastering competencies by management students. As a result, it was found that the types of extracurricular work of management students can be systematized according to the learning objectives (mastering knowledge, consolidating and systematizing knowledge, forming skills, acquiring practical experience); extracurricular work can have the following effects: improving the efficiency of mastering theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired by a student during classroom work, mastering general competencies, mastering professional competencies. Extracurricular work requires careful planning by the teacher, comprehensive methodological support and availability of advisory support for student managers.
