Abstract

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the formation and development of career guidance work in Ukraine. The concept of career guidance is analyzed. The issues of formation and organization of career guidance work are considered. The analysis of features of career guidance work is carried out. The leading direction of further work is determined. It is determined that professional orientation is an important element of development of each person and society as a whole, this type of activity is aimed at achieving a balance between professional interest and the ability of people and the needs of society in certain professional activities. Career guidance is an important element of the development of each person and society as a whole. It aims to achieve a balance between professional interests and human capabilities and needs of society in a particular professional activity. Career guidance work, professional interest as a category of psychological and pedagogical science comes from the concept of interest as a selective attitude of the individual to a particular object, process and phenomenon. The level of interest is determined by the vital needs and emotional appeal of the object. In the current conditions of Ukraine’s development, which is characterized by the strengthening of the role of the individual in society, rapid change of equipment and technologies, market conditions, the priority is to build a humanistic, democratic society with a market economy. The ideas of humanization, democratization and continuity are basic for modern Ukrainian education, which is based on the individual, society, production, the sphere of education itself. In the modernization of modern education, the role of general education as the basis of any field of vocational education, the basis for the development of cognitive abilities, cognitive independence, general learning skills, without which all subsequent stages of continuing, focused education are ineffective.
