Abstract

The research objective includes identifying the most efficient ways of studying dialogue in L. Petrushevskaya’s dramaturgic discourse. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the author presents approaches to studying dialogue as a means to describe personages’ inner world in “women’s plays”, analyses the dramatic dialogue through the lens of its structure and content. The following conclusions are justified: a wide range of characters’ verbal and non-verbal reactions indicates multi-functional nature of dialogues in L. Petrushevskaya’s plays; they not only transfer peculiarities of characters’ speech but represent the story dynamics, specificity of conflict in “women’s literature”, serve as a means to describe the situation.
