Abstract
The present paper describes some results of separation of ceramics or aluminium from scrapped bottle glass by heavy-media separation method. It was possible to separate ceramics or aluminium from glass by batch test under conditions that fine particle of ferrosilicon was used as a heavy media and standing period after agitation was relatively short.The difference in specific gravity between them was about 0.2. A new type heavy-media separator of laboratory scale was deviced in order to study under continuous conditions. Experimental results showed that the grade of glass obtained was more than 99.9% with its recovery of the order of 90%.
