Abstract

The aim of the study is a comparative analysis of the song folklore of Yanshikhovo-Norvashi village in the Yantikovskiy district of the Chuvash Republic and its existence in the tradition of the Siberian settlers living in the Prokopyevskiy district of the Kemerovo region. The scientific novelty lies in the identification of common and specific elements of the genre composition and originality of the settlers’ song folklore. As a result of the study, the general and specific elements of the genre composition and originality of the settlers’ song have been revealed. The systems of folklore genres recorded in the mother and resettlement territories coincide in general. A fairly representative layer of calendar and family genres has been recorded from the Siberian Chuvash people: Maslenitsa, wedding, round dance, recruiting and guest songs. The samples of recruiting and wedding songs are characterized by some fragmentation. The Siberian versions of the compared texts are distinguished by the loss of some stanzas.
