Abstract

This paper offers the right direction of the research in the field of tourism through comparing two major academic journals such Journal of Tourism Sciences and Tourism Management. The purpose of this paper is to compare the behavior of domestic and international tourists through content analysis. The study's findings suggested that domestic tourists behave differently than those traveling on an international level. First, studies of international tourists' behavior are more extensive than those of domestic tourists. Second, a tourist behavior study focuses on individuals' psychological aspects in tourism contexts. Visitors on international vacations tended to be more recreational and environmentally conscious than domestic tourists. Third, studies of international tourists' behavior used quantitative and qualitative research methods. The study's findings will provide us with necessary materials to get started in the right direction of tourism research. Future study will focus on mixed research methods and longitudinal approaches in order to identify a variety of phenomenon in the fields of tourism.
