Abstract
Livestock breeding is the leading agricultural sector in the republics of Tuva and Kalmykia. Currently, there is an increase in the number of farm animals and a change in the structure of the livestock in all categories of farms. Cattle breeding is being successfully implemented in two national republics. In all categories of economies, an increase in the number of cattle is observed, most actively - in households and agricultural enterprises, among individual entrepreneurs. The specificity can be distinguished in each region: in the Republic of Tuva, the number of cattle is concentrated in the households of the population, and in the Republic of Kalmykia in two categories of economies: agricultural enterprises / individual entrepreneurs and households. Sheep breeding in two regions is characterized by general trends: a decrease in the number of sheep in agricultural organizations, and their increase in peasant farms and among individual entrepreneurs.
