Abstract

Ensemble of microelectrodes may possess a signal-to-noise advantage compared to electrodes of conventional size (D. E. Weisshaar and D. E. Tallman, Anal, Chem., 55 (1983) 1146). Therefore, parallel array of microband electrodes or, in short, stripe electrode has been proposed. Approximate equations representing chronoamperoetric current at the stripe electrodes are proposed and their signal-to-noise advantage is discussed in terms of the width of and the distance between microband electrodes.
