Abstract

The paper describes implementation of geomechanical monitoring of movements and deformations in rock mass and mine structures in hybrid open pit/underground mining. The case-study of extraction ofAikhal kimberlite pipe reserves under bottom of an open pit ofAL- ROSA allows examining the pitwall rock mass stability control using subsurface check points arranged in boreholes in underground roadways. The authors assess the occurrence time of dynamic deformation in pitwall rock mass, duration of the dynamic deformation period and the limit displacements at the moment of slope falls. The developed assessment method of the rock mass stress-strain behavior uses the data of borehole measurements of check point displacementsThe proposed method is included in integrated projects of hydrogeomechanical monitoring of crown pillars under pit bottoms in Aikhal andInternatsionalny Mines of ALROSA.
