Abstract

It is considered the creation of highly filled polymer systems based on polyethylene with optimal technological and biodegradable properties. Obtaining highly-filled-by-starch polyethylene is found to be more cost effective than obtaining aliphatic polyesters. There are investigated by-products and concomitants of oil-and-fat industry i.e. Fusan and soap-stock as multifunctional additives in obtaining highly-filled-by-starch polyethylene. Application of additives enables to reduce viscosity, to control the degree of water absorption and promotes biodegradation of composites. The composites developed can be used in manufacture of short-term items i.e. disposable tableware, containers and other wares.
