Abstract

This study examines the effects of memorable tourism experiences (MTEs) of theme park tourists on place attachment between male and female to comprehend the implications of national differences in cultural values.BR An analysis is conducted based on 275 questionnaires from Chinese respondents who had visited theme park within the past three years.BR After examining the effect relationship between six MTEs factors and place attachment; hedonism, novelty, involvement and knowledge factors had a positive effect on place attachment while refreshment and meaningfulness factors had no significant effect on place attachment. Gender differences were also shown. For male respondents those were hedonism and novelty factors. For female respondents, novelty, refreshment, involvement, and knowledge factors had a positive effect on place attachment.
