Abstract

The purpose of the research is to determine the role of linguistic means and extralinguistic factors in the formation of the images of Russia and the Russian nation in English-language mass media, works of art, as well as to identify their everyday understanding of Russia. Scientific novelty of the paper is determined by an integrative approach to studying the image of Russia, which includes fragments of nonlinguistic (political science, journalism) and linguistic (stylistics, linguoculturology) paradigms of knowledge. As a result of the research, it has been found that the reflection of national specificities in the figurative linguistic sign, the evolution of this image are expressed to the fullest extent in the spheres associated with influence - in the press and literature.
